The commoditization of code is real but the article misses a crucial nuance: in physical AI and IoT, the scarce asset isn't software -- it's the integration layer between AI models and real-world hardware. You can generate code with AI, but you can't auto-generate reliable cellular connectivity across 190 countries, thermal management for edge inference in a warehouse, or deterministic failover when a robot arm loses network. The companies that win in abundance aren't the ones writing code -- they're the ones building the unglamorous infrastructure that makes AI work in physical environments.
